We design, install, and own the system on your roof at no upfront cost to you. You pay only for the power it produces — at a rate set below what your utility charges, locked in for the life of the agreement. Maintenance, repairs, and monitoring are all included. From month one, your combined solar-plus-utility bill is lower than what you were paying before.
If you lease, the federal Investment Tax Credit goes to the leasing company that owns the equipment — and that value is passed back to you in the form of a lower monthly payment. You don't file anything for it; it's already baked into your rate. If you purchase, your savings come from the New York State Tax Credit (25%, up to $5,000) and the NYC Property Tax Abatement (30% over four years), which we help you claim. We size your numbers around the incentives that actually apply to your path.
Most are. South, east, and west-facing roofs all work, and modern panels produce well even with partial shade. We assess pitch, orientation, age, and shading during your free consultation. If your roof needs work first, we're GAF-certified and can do roof and panels together on one permit — often the smartest time to do both.
If you own the system, it stays with the home and typically increases its sale value — homes with solar sell for more. If you lease, the agreement transfers to the new owner (who inherits the lower energy rate, usually an easy sell), or it can be bought out at closing. We walk you through the transfer paperwork either way — it's routine.
Yes. Panels run on light, not heat — cold, clear winter days are actually highly productive. Snow usually slides off the smooth, angled glass within a day or two, and your system is designed around full-year production including seasonal dips. Net metering banks your summer surplus to cover shorter winter days.
You'll stay connected to the grid, so you'll still get a utility statement — but it'll be a fraction of what it was, often just a small fixed connection charge. On sunny months you may build net-metering credits that roll forward and offset your darker months. The goal is simple: move the bulk of your spend off the utility and onto your own system.
Solar alone shuts off in an outage for grid-safety reasons. To keep your lights on, you add battery backup — a Tesla Powerwall — which we design and install alongside your array on the same permit. With a battery, your essentials (fridge, heat, Wi-Fi, medical equipment) keep running while the grid is down. Ask us whether battery backup makes sense for your home.
The lease has friendlier credit requirements than a typical home loan — most homeowners qualify with fair-to-good credit, since the equipment itself backs the agreement. There's no down payment and no lien on your home. We run a soft check during your consultation that won't affect your score, and we'll tell you exactly where you stand before anything is signed.
